Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a contingent, rotating shift. Under the direction of a Radiologist, you will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ensure patient safety.

The role requires ARDMS certification or eligibility, and completion of SPI, Abdomen, and OB/GYN exams within 12 months of hire; a high school diploma and BCLS certification are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be registered with ARDMS, or eligible to sit for ARDMS examination.
  • If eligible, SPI, Abdomen, and OB/GYN ARDMS exams must be completed within 12 months of hire.
  • Must maintain required hours of continuing medical education (CME).
  • Healthcare Provider certification (BCLS) required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist.
  • Select appropriate imaging techniques, position patients, and follow safety practices according to department protocols.

Ultrasound Technologist - Contingent - Rotating

Shift: Rotating

_ General Summary:_

Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in the performance of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician. Performs related functions according to department protocols. Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.

Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.

Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or eligible candidate to sit for an ARDMS examination.

The ARDMS defines 'candidate' as an applicant who has met the prerequisites required to sit for an ARDMS examination.

If eligible candidate, successful completion of SPI, Abdomen, and OB/GYN ARDMS examinations required within 12 months of date of hire.

Failure to obtain registry within the designated timeframe will result in termination of the Ultrasound Technologist position.

Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.

Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
