RAYUS Radiology in Avon, Indiana seeks a Part-Time Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. You will operate ultrasound scanners to produce diagnostic images with a patient-centered approach and professional standards.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, performing imaging procedures across body parts, maintaining RIS records, and supporting the imaging department. Required qualifications include AMA accredited program, ARDMS, state licensure where applicable, CPR, and the

Qualifications

  • Graduate of AMA or CAAHEP accredited sonography program.
  • ARDMS registered and current in good standing.
  • Certification in an imaging specialty (AB/BR/ObGyn etc.).
  • Licensed Sonographer in the applicable state (if required).
  • CPR certification must be active.

Responsabilités

  • Operate ultrasound scanners to image designated body parts for diagnosis.
  • Prepare and position patients; explain procedures.
  • Perform routine and advanced imaging with minimal supervision.
  • Adjust scan parameters and document results in RIS.
  • Maintain safe, clean imaging area and equipment.
  • Support protocol manuals, inventory, and training of staff.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a Part-Time position working 30 hours a week, Monday through Wednesday, 10 hour shift daily.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(90%) Sonography Imaging
  1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  2. Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
  3. Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  4. Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
  5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, to and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members
  7. Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements
(5%) Sonography Department Support
  1. Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  2. Monitor medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  3. Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Other Duties as Assigned
  1. Completes other tasks and projects as assigned
Required
  1. High school diploma, or equivalent
  2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
  3. Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing
  4. Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.)
  5. Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable)
  6. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  7. Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently
Preferred
  1. Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
  2. OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
  3. Bilingual
