Texas Health Burleson is seeking an Ultrasound Technician II PRN to perform ultrasound imaging and patient care in our Radiology Ultrasound Services. The role supports on-call rotations and variable shifts in an outpatient setting.

Requirements include ARRT/ARDMS credentials or 2 certifications with two modality coverage, BCLS, and a AMA-accredited ultrasound program with a high school diploma. On-site work at Burleson location with comprehensive THR benefits.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• AMA-Approved Ultrasound Program preferred; Associate Degree preferred.
• BCLS certification required before providing independent patient care.
• ARRT Sonography or ARDMS certification required; two certifications on hire if vascular ultrasound performed.

Aufgaben

• Explain procedures to patient/guardian before and during exam.
• Image the correct anatomical area per department protocols.
• Perform complex procedures including age-related criteria and developmental considerations.
• Assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
• Send and transfer images to PACS correctly.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure laser images from modality or PACS are printed as needed.
• Operate, care for and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Prepare examination room with needed supplies and equipment.
• Handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices and monitor during imaging.

• Work environment: Radiology Ultrasound Services
• Work hours: PRN Variable Shifts. On call rotation required

Texas Health Burleson is an outpatient center that specializes in medical services for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to seniors. We have served Burleson and surrounding communities since 2010 and provide exceptional care to the Burleson, Joshua, Cleburne, and Crowley communities. We specialize in a variety of outpatient services including advanced diagnostic imaging, physical, orthopedic, and vestibular therapy, cardiac rehab, and more. Plus, we have a fitness center on-site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Graduate of AMA approved/accredited Ultrasound Program (preferred)
• Associate Degree (preferred)
• 2 years clinical experience in hospital radiology setting (preferred)
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required)
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography (required) OR - ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers (required), must have 2 certifications upon hire AND - Other RVT or VT(RVS) as one modality if performing vascular sonography (required)

Position Responsibilities

A Texas Health Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam, imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols, and performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.

• assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.

• work in tandem with staff to ensure laser images from modality or PACS are printed as needed.
• operate, care for and maintain equipment.
• prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies).
• handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging.
