Job summary

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in California is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound studies across pediatric to geriatric patients, ensuring image quality and patient safety. You will adjust protocols and clearly communicate instructions to meet individual needs.

Graduate of an approved diagnostic medical sonography program with ARDMS/ARRT certification and BLS at hire; 1 year of ultrasound experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• BLS Certification required upon hire.
• ARDMS or ARRT certification required upon hire.

Job description

Position Summary

Performs diagnostic Ultrasound examinations.

Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide Ultrasound services appropriate to the age of the patients. Cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical. Must be competent to obtain image and perform Ultrasound studies with adults and geriatric patients as well as children. Responsible for adjusting protocols as necessary and for communicating instructions appropriate to the specific needs of the patient. Must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect in the adult, geriatric, or pediatric patient.

The Ultrasonographer also meet hospital's continuing education requirements by enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational program, current literature, In-service meetings and workshops, as well as association groups.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. 1 year as Ultrasound Technologist preferred. BLS Certification required upon hire. ARDMS or ARRT required upon hire.
