Job summary

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in California is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and support patient care across age groups.

The candidate must be a graduate of an approved school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, with BLS on hire and 1 year of experience preferred; duties include adapting protocols, ensuring safety, and communicating instructions tailored to each patient.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• 1 year of Ultrasound Technologist experience preferred.
• Ability to adapt protocols for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic Ultrasound examinations.

Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide Ultrasound services appropriate to the age of the patients. Cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical. Must be competent to obtain image and perform Ultrasound studies with adults and geriatric patients as well as children. Responsible for adjusting protocols as necessary and for communicating instructions appropriate to the specific needs of the patient. Must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect in the adult, geriatric, or pediatric patient.

The Ultrasonographer also meet hospital's continuing education requirements by enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational program, current literature, In-service meetings and workshops, as well as association groups.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. 1 year as Ultrasound Technologist preferred. BLS Certification required upon hire.
