Job summary

Riverview Health in Noblesville, IN seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to operate ultrasound equipment, produce diagnostic images, and support patient care. You will follow department procedures for documentation and interpretation coordination with physicians.

The role requires ARDMS-certified education with an approved radiology program; on-call evening/night/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of ARDMS-sanctioned school of Ultrasound or Sonography; JRCERT approved Radiology program.
  • Preferred: Multiple modality certification.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust ultrasound equipment for proper scans.
  • Independently perform scans per department protocols and participate in on-call coverage.
  • Explain procedures to patients and produce quality scans; review films with medical staff.
  • Review ultrasound films for technical quality.
  • Perform quality assurance tests as directed and contribute to CQI processes.
  • Maintain ultrasound rooms clean, safe and stocked.
  • Document information per organizational procedures.
  • Perform duties of Ultrasound Technologist as licensed and required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Description
Job Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist uses specialized ultrasound equipment, takes images of the appropriate areas of the anatomy using scanning technique that results in high quality diagnostic images as requested by the physician. The Ultrasound Technologist follows departmental protocol as it relates to documentation, comparison, consent, and other information needed for interpretation and appropriate patient care.

Job Responsibilities
  • Sets up and adjusts ultrasound equipment for proper scans.
  • Independently perform scans on patients according to protocols established by department leadership and take call, per the department schedule for evening, night and weekend coverage.
  • Uses expertise to explain procedures to patients, produce quality scans, process films and review films with medical staff.
  • Reviews and evaluates ultrasound films for technical quality.
  • Performs quality assurance tests and studies related to ultrasound as directed and provides input into CQI processes.
  • Maintains ultrasound rooms in a clean, safe, orderly, and well-stocked condition.
  • Accurately documents per established organization information management procedures.
  • Performs duties of a Ultrasound Technologist as licensed, needed and required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
  • Minimum: Graduate of an American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Sanctioned School of Ultrasound or Sonography certification and graduation of an Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved school of Radiology Technology .
  • Preferred: Multiple modality certification
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum: Ultrasound - 6 months
License/Certification Requirements
  • Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
  • American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Abdomen or Obstetrics/gynecologic or certified
Qualifications
Education

Certificate or better in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
