Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for the Vascular Heart Care Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. Under a radiologist’s direction, you will perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures, ensure patient safety, and assist in diagnostic workflows across locations as needed.

The role requires two years of vascular ultrasound experience, ARDMS certification or eligibility, and BLS. You’ll join a team focused on high-quality care within a large nonprofit health system serving the Phoenix area.

Qualifications

• Two years of dedicated vascular ultrasound experience.
• ARDMS eligible; must obtain certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound techniques including abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts.
• Transports and positions patients; prepares and maintains exam rooms.
• Acquires digital images and evaluates technical quality; documents QC.

The Vascular Heart Care Clinic is located at 7351 E Osborn Rd, Scottsdale, Arizona 85251.

The hours are 10 hours shifts from Monday- Friday 6:45am-5:15pm.

Prefers Two years of dedicated vascular ultrasound experience, proficiency in multiple different vascular ultrasounds.

Responsibilities

Job summary

Under the direction of a radiologist, this Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.

Essential functions

• Performs ultrasound techniques and examination; including but not limited to abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts, by selecting proper technical factors on individual patient basis and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort.
• Transports patient to and from exam room/table, prepares and maintains room.
• Acquires digital images and evaluates for technical quality.
• Assists physician in diagnostic procedures and with administering medications.
• Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department’s activities.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order.
• Performs and documents all required quality control testing.
• Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
• Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
• Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.
• Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area.
• Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Other / Certificate Graduation from an accredited program for diagnostic medical sonography Preferred
• Associates Preferred

Experience

• Other >10 months clinical ultrasound experience Required
• Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - License or RVT credentialed. This includes passing one of the following exams: Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatric Sonography, Vascular Technology
• 1 Year Required
• Two (2) or more ARDMS specialty credentials. Preferred

License and certifications

• Sonography Principles & Instrumentation - Certificate American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) eligible. Includes passing SPI exam (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Exam) Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification at the time of hire Required
• Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - License or RVT credentialed. This includes passing one of the following exams: Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatric Sonography, Vascular Technology
• 1 Year Required
• Two (2) or more ARDMS specialty credentials. Preferred
