Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform 2D ultrasonic recordings and support physicians in diagnosis. The role requires selecting equipment, guiding patients, and adjusting transducers to optimize image quality.

Responsibilities include data entry into ultrasound systems and maintaining accurate records while adhering to quality and safety standards. A credentialed education path is required along with ARDMS/ARRT registration and BLS.

Qualifications

• 1+ year related experience; breast ultrasound experience preferred.
• ARDMS or ARRT registration; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Select equipment for ultrasound setup according to examination specifications.

• Enter test data and patient information into the ultrasound equipment computer.
• Move the transducer over the body to monitor ultrasonic patterns.

• Select equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination
• Explain process to patient, and instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for examination
• Select transducer and adjust equipment controls according to the organ being examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test
• Key test data and patient information into the computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test results
• Move transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observe sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced

Education And Experience

Minimum Required Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school

Experience: 1+ years related experience and/or training, breast ultrasound experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Applicants must be registered or registry eligible through ARDMS or ARRT. If registry eligible, the applicant must be ARDMS or ARRT registered within 3 months of employment. BLS required.
