Job summary

John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the Medical Director and Imaging Services leadership. The role includes cardiac ultrasound, patient monitoring, and accurate record-keeping in a hospital setting.

The candidate should have a School of Ultrasound degree, RDMS and RVT certifications, CPR, and at least one year of hospital experience. Shifts are varied and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of School of Ultrasound.
  • RDMS certification.
  • RVT certification.
  • Minimum one year hospital experience.
  • Willing to work varied shifts, weekends and be on call.
  • CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
  • Monitor patient during procedures and assist radiologists.
  • Maintain accurate ultrasound records.
  • Perform cardiac ultrasound and QA/QI studies.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and report maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff.

Hours: 8HR Shifts

Under the direction of the Medical Director, and in conjunction with the Administrative Director of Imaging Services, the Ultrasound Technologist performs all aspects of Ultrasound. These duties include, but are not limited to the following: Uses independent judgment and necessary skills in acquiring diagnostic ultrasound procedures. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the limited monitoring of the patient during procedures, assisting the radiologist with invasive examinations, keeping accurate records of ultrasound patients, performs cardiac related ultrasound, QA/QI studies, monitors operation of ultrasound equipment and notifies supervisor of any repair needs. Assists as needed in maintaining relationships with physicians and staff. Works as assigned with various ultrasound equipment in the Ultrasound Department and in a portable setting. Other duties as required.

Minimum Education/Certification/Experience:

  • Graduate of School of Ultrasound
  • RDMS
  • RVT
  • Must have one (1) year experience in a Hospital setting
  • Must work various shifts, weekends and be on call
  • CPR
