Job summary

Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA, is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to ensure efficient imaging services and optimize equipment and staff resources. You will perform patient ultrasound procedures, label images accurately, and maintain proficiency across all ultrasound equipment.

Preferred candidates have hospital experience, graduated from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program, and ARDMS abdominal board certification with CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Successfully complete physics boards and abdominal boards through ARDMS.
• CPR certification required (license requirement).
• Registered with ARDMS in Abdomen (license requirement).

Responsibilities

• Reviews appointment schedules and suggests changes to maximize resource use.
• Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment to provide quality imaging.
• Performs patient procedures with correct scanning techniques and labeling images.

Description:

Reviews appointment schedules and suggests changes necessary to provide maximum use of the available resources (re: equipment and staff) in order to assure the most efficient service to the patients and physicians. Operates and maintains proficiency on all Ultrasound equipment within the department in order to provide quality imaging. Performs patient procedures and provides appropriate scanning techniques and images. Images are labeled with correct name and identification number.

Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week

Experience Required

Previous hospital experience preferred

Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

Successfully completion of physics boards and abdominal boards through ARDMS

License Requirements

• Candidate must be CPR Certified
• Registered with ARDMS in Abdomen
