Job summary

Reading Hospital is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Sonographer to perform ultrasound procedures per protocol and provide patient education. You will deliver diagnostic information and respond to patient questions with compassionate, non-judgmental care.

  • Experience performing ultrasound procedures as ordered by a physician.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information.
  • Provides information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure and responds to questions.
  • Maintains quality care with professional judgment and respect for patient individuality.
  • Maintains continued competence through lifelong learning and credentials updates.
  • Performs diverse imaging across the spectrum of sonography.

Available Ultrasound Sonographer Positions
  • Full-Time (80 Hrs Biweekly): M-F 12:00PM-8:30PM; Weekday Call, Holiday and Weekend Rotation
  • Full-Time (80 Hrs Biweekly): M-F Dayshift position including weekends, weekday call, odd shift coverage, and holiday rotation
  • Full-Time (72 Hrs Biweekly): One 12 Hr Shift & Three 8 Hr Evening Shifts Weekly; Every 4th Wknd 10:30AM-11PM; Holiday Rotation & Weekend Call Rotation
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Performs Ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated health care provider.
  • Provides information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure and responds to the patient's questions and concerns.
  • Recognizes the patient's individuality and provides quality care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner using professional and ethical judgment.
  • Maintains continued competence through lifelong learning, which includes continuing education, acquisition of specialty specific credentials, and recredentialing.
  • Performs diverse imaging across the spectrum of sonography.

Certification and Licensure
  • BLS Certification
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (OB or AB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(S)
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (RVT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(VS) is obtained within 18 months of hire
