Job summary

Baptist Health seeks an Ultrasonographer for the East Montgomery Imaging Center to perform abdominal, obstetric, breast, gynecologic, vascular, and axillary ultrasound exams. This outpatient role emphasizes high-quality image production and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Graduate of a Diagnostic Ultrasound program with ARDMS/ARRT certification and BLS is required; must show dexterity, judgment, and strong communication while assisting patients between wheelchairs and beds.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a School of Diagnostic Ultrasound required.
• Active ARDMS or ARRT in Sonography required, BLS required.
• Must possess manual dexterity, reasoning ability, independent judgment, and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams including abdomen, obstetrical, breast, gynecological, vascular, and axilla.
• Produce high-quality images for detection of pathology.
• Collaborate with the imaging team in outpatient setting.

Highlights: Summary: The Ultrasonographer, Outpatient shall perform duties involved with a variety of technical procedures utilizing high frequency sound waves to produce quality images for the detection of pathology. This individual shall perform all diagnostic ultrasound exams including but not limited to: abdomen, obstetrical, breast, gynecological, vascular, and axilla. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.

Education / Experience

Graduate of a School of Diagnostic Ultrasound required.

License / Certification

Active ARMDS or ARRT in Sonography required , BLS required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Requires manual dexterity.

• Must be able to assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting for 30% of the workday and mobility 70% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
