Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center conducts Ultrasound Cardiac imaging and EKG support at Memorial Hospital. The role focuses on quality ultrasound scans for cardiology diagnoses and assists with Holter monitoring, stress testing, and patient care internal to the hospital setting.

• Gain intravenous access for UEA and bubble studies as ordered by physician.

Job Summary

Accountable for providing quality ultrasound scans for the Cardiologists in the diagnosis of cardiac patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality ultrasound images for use by the Cardiologist in the diagnosis and management of cardiac patients.
• Provide assistance to the EKG Technicians in the performance of Holter Monitor scanning.
• Provide assistance to the EKG Technicians in the performance of stress testing.
• Maintain records of patient exams with their diagnosis. Ability to identify abnormalities and take appropriate action.
• Schedule or supervise the scheduling of patients and obtain history of illness.
• Provide assistance to Physicians and patients during stress/Echocardiograms or obtain adequate ultrasound images.
• Prepare patients and provide quality signals for TCD examinations and assist nursing personnel/physician.
• Following aseptic technique, gain intravenous access as needed for UEA and or bubble studies as ordered by physician.
