Job summary

Care New England Health System is seeking an ultrasound professional to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety. You will review clinical information, document findings for radiologists, and communicate with physicians and staff.

The role includes assisting with invasive procedures using ultrasound guidance and maintaining current knowledge through ongoing education and seminars. An accredited ultrasound program and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound program required.
  • A minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • RDMS required.
  • RVT required (Certified Ultrasonographer position only).

  • Independently perform ultrasound examinations exercising judgment to recognize and record pathologies and abnormalities necessary to provide a diagnosis.
  • Review patient medical records and clinical information to evaluate patient condition and determine the diagnostic information the physician is seeking.
  • Summarize and document findings for radiologists and communicate with referring physicians, radiologists, nursing staff and other departments about the examination.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the specialty by attending seminars, in-services and reading journals.
  • Assist specialty physicians in performing invasive procedures (e.g., amniocentesis and biopsies) by providing ultrasound guidance for needle entrance.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
