Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. seeks an Ultrasound Technologist for a part-time, 24-hour schedule with day shifts (Mon, Thu, Fri, 8:00–4:30). On-call rotation may include weeknights, weekends or holidays.

You will perform ultrasound exams, verify patient identity, prepare rooms and collaborate with the Radiology team to ensure quality and safety. Knowledge of PACS/EHR is helpful; BLS preferred, ARDMS in OB/GYN preferred, 0–1 year ultrasound experience is

Qualifications

  • Certificate/diploma in Diagnostic Imaging required.
  • BLS preferred, required within 90 days of hire.
  • ARDMS in OB/GYN or AB preferred within 90 days of hire.
  • Ultrasound technologist with 0–1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound exams with attention to safety and accuracy.
  • Verify patient identity using two identifiers and review orders.
  • Prepare rooms and equipment, restock supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with Radiology leadership to optimize workflow.
  • Support research and QA initiatives when requested.

Job Summary

We're offering a generous sign-on bonus ($20,000) to welcome you to our team. Essential Functions
  • Patient & Exam Verification: Confirm patient identity using two identifiers (full name and DOB). Review exam orders and clinical history. Prepare and clean equipment and rooms; restock supplies as needed.
  • Patient Care & Collaboration: Clearly explain procedures, considering patient comfort and confidentiality. Collaborate with leadership to ensure efficient workflow and scanner use. Provide care within the scope of training and licensure.
  • Department & On-Call Coverage: Participate in on-call, holiday, and flexible shift coverage as needed.
  • Clinical Performance: Perform ultrasound exams and assist with training staff and students. Operate equipment and follow protocols. Complete additional duties as assigned.
  • Research & Quality Initiatives: Support and participate in departmental research, QA, and improvement pro jects. Conduct research-related ultrasound exams as required.
Education

Other Certificate/Diploma Diagnostic Imaging required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Diagnostic Medical Sonographer required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials

Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred, required within 90 days of hireAmerican Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARMDS) preferred, OB/GYN or AB within 90 days of hire

Experience Ultrasound Technologist experience 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Comprehensive understanding of computer operations relating to Imaging, Electronic Health Records, Reporting Systems, PACS, and all Hospital Information Systems that integrate with the Department of Radiology, relating to patient information and management.Possesses analytical abilities necessary to effectively utilize advanced knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and anatomy.Exemplifies flexibility and willingness to adapt to the operational needs and presents as a positive representative of the Department of Radiology.Excellent attention to detail, written, and communication skills; must be able to read and write in English.Use independent judgment and initiative under pressure in a variety of situations.Maintains effective working relations and communication with colleagues and patients.
