Job summary

OhioHealth in Ohio is seeking a full-time Ultrasonographer to provide obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound services at the Jerome Medical Office Building, located just off State Route 33 on US Highway 42 between Marysville and Dublin. Hours are 7:30a–4:30p, Monday–Friday, with no weekends or major holidays.

This role supports a practice with seven providers across three locations, offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a one-year commitment, and emphasizes patient care in a high reliability

Qualifications

  • ARDMS certification required (OB/GYN/abd). ARRT and RDMS certifications required. BLS required.
  • 1-2 yrs ultrasound training from an accredited program or clinical training acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diverse ultrasound examinations and interpret results with radiologists.
  • Independently provide preliminary ultrasound findings to attending physicians.
  • Teach imaging students and residents in scanning methods and instrumentation.
  • Maintain equipment and stock supplies; perform quality control procedures.
  • Assist radiologists with invasive procedures.

Job Description Summary:

$15,000 SIGN-ON BONUS
External applicants and newly licensed internal applicants may be eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a one-year work commitment. Previously employed applicants who have been gone from the organization more than 90 days may also be eligible.

This exciting new opportunity is for a full-time Ultrasonographer supporting the Obstetrics and Gynecology office at the Jerome Medical Office Building, which is located just off State Route 33 on US Highway 42 between Marysville and Dublin, Ohio. This position is being created to provide expanded ultrasound services to our patients Monday-Friday.

The hours for this position are 7:30a-4:30p, Monday-Friday with no weekends or major holidays. There is a total of seven providers within the practice who rotate between three locations - this one in addition to Delaware and Lewis Center. Women’s health experience is preferred. New grads who completed a women’s health clinical rotation may be considered.

The Ultrasonographer independently performs requested ultrasound examinations, searching for any possible pathology as indicated by the patient’s symptoms/medical history and/or results from previous testing. The position reviews and discusses the ultrasound findings with the radiologist and a diagnosis is made.

Responsibilities And Duties:
  • 60% Performs various ultrasound examinations. Subjectively interprets information based on judgmental decisions by Ultrasonographers, requiring in-depth knowledge of human anatomy, physiology and pathology. Maintains complete knowledge of wave form physics, i.e., , time gain compensation curves, attenuation factors, etc. , required to set equipment variable properly for appropriate imaging of specific anatomy. Assists Radiologists with performance of invasive procedures.
  • 10% Independently evaluates normal vs. abnormal test results in correlation with patient history, previous examinations, lab results, etc.
  • 10% Independently gives preliminary ultrasound results to attending physicians, surgeons, residents, etc. regarding any vascular ultrasound procedures as determined by site accreditation.
  • 10% Teaches/educates imaging students, medical students and residents in basic scanning methods and instrumentation of ultrasound.
  • 10% Maintains equipment and stocks supplies. Performs quality control procedures and maintains documentation.

Additional Job Description:

1-2 yrs ultrasound training from an accredited training program. Must have passedthe American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Must have passed the abdominal or OB/GYN and physics/instrumentation. 1-2 yrs previous ultrasound experience(clinical training acceptable). BLS Certification.
