Job summary

Leidos is seeking a UI/UX Engineer to join a team building innovative software supporting entitlement programs and Identity & Access Management. You will create accessible WordPress-based sites for admins and end users, bridging design, development, and production with QA input.

The role requires hands-on coding, design input, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. The position emphasizes WordPress theme/plugin development, front-end/back-end optimization, and adherence to accessibility

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Requires BS degree and 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with WordPress front-end development: HTML5, SASS/CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience with WordPress back-end development: PHP, MySQL, WP REST API, JSON.
• Developing custom features and functionality for WordPress.
• Creating WordPress plugins.
• Producing unit testing and QA.
• Developing and Testing for Accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Create well-structured and maintainable WordPress themes from scratch.
• Develop WordPress plugins to support custom site functionality and integrations.
• Improve back-end efficiency including database and server integration.
• Maintain and optimize WordPress themes and plugins.
• Conduct website performance tests and optimize for speed.
• Monitor live website performance and troubleshoot UX issues.
• Handle both back-end and front-end development for WordPress implementations.
