Job summary

Lago is seeking a UI/UX Developer to bridge design and frontend implementation. You’ll craft intuitive user experiences and translate them into production-ready code in a remote, globally distributed team.

Responsibilities include designing interfaces, conducting user research, building prototypes, and collaborating with engineers to ensure accessible, responsive designs using modern frontend tech.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in UI/UX design with a front-end implementation component.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design work across web or mobile products.
• Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD).
• Solid front-end development skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and at least one front-end framework (React, Vue.js, or similar).
• Experience with responsive design and mobile-first principles.
• Knowledge of UX research methods and usability testing.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 or higher).

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive user interfaces and user experiences for web and/or mobile applications using tools like Figma or Sketch.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for new features and workflows.
• Implement UI designs in code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript with a modern front-end framework.
• Build and maintain a component library or design system ensuring visual consistency across products.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible and implemented accurately.
• Define and enforce design standards, guidelines, and accessibility best practices (WCAG).
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, A/B test results, and analytics.
• Advocate for the end user’s perspective throughout the product development process.
• Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and cross-functional product discussions

Role Scope & Purpose

The UI/UX Developer bridges the disciplines of design and engineering, responsible for both crafting intuitive user experiences and implementing them in code. This role combines user research, interaction design, and front-end development to deliver products that are both beautiful and functional. The UI/UX Developer collaborates closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure that design decisions are grounded in user needs and executed to a high technical standard.

• Knowledge of data visualization and dashboard design.
• Background in mobile app UI/UX (iOS/Android design patterns).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum product development workflows.
