Job summary

AVER, LLC is a fast-growing SDVOSB delivering data analytics, mission support, IT modernization, and biometrics solutions. We seek an experienced UI/UX Developer to design user-centered interfaces, modernize dashboards, and optimize reporting tools for DHS-related projects.

You will translate requirements into wireframes, create prototypes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve usability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant technical field.
• 15+ years of professional work experience within data analysis, assessment and/or reporting.
• Experience supporting UI/UX design, application modernization, or dashboard and reporting solutions.
• Ability to translate user needs and business requirements into wireframes, prototypes, or functional interface designs.
• Knowledge of usability, accessibility, and user-centered design practices.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to gather feedback and refine solutions.
• Experience using common design or visualization tools to create mockups, dashboards, or interface assets.
• Ability to independently lead high-visibility, mission-critical projects from concept through delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and modernize user-centered applications, dashboards, reporting interfaces, and mission-support tools
• Translate business and operational requirements into intuitive, efficient, user-friendly solutions
• Analyze workflows to identify process improvements and streamline user interactions across systems and applications
• Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and interface designs for application development and modernization
• Partner with stakeholders, developers, data analysts, and product teams to define functional and technical requirements
• Improve interfaces to strengthen functionality, navigation, usability, accessibility, and the overall user experience
• Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau, Power Platform, and related technologies
• Support data integration across multiple sources and SQL-based platforms (Redshift, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Contribute to architecture discussions to ensure scalable, maintainable solutions
• Conduct usability testing, user acceptance testing, and validation to meet requirements
• Apply accessibility standards and UX best practices throughout development
• Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts
• Support application sustainment, system enhancements, defect resolution, and modernization
• Coordinate daily development activities and track progress against priorities
• Use Photoshop and related tools to create interface assets
• Provide technical/analytical support to assess existing systems and improvements
• Collaborate across teams to deliver mission-aligned solutions

AVER is seeking an experienced UI/UX Developer to perform User Interface and Interface Optimization support in support of the Department of Homeland Security. This role will provide user-centered design, application development, and interface modernization support to enhance the usability, functionality, and performance of data-driven tools, dashboards, and reporting systems. Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant technical field

Experience Requirements:
