Job summary

Nex is seeking a UI Motion Artist Intern in San Jose, CA. You will craft expressive UI motion, transitions, and VFX across multiple projects, collaborating with designers and artists to match diverse visual styles.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Strong foundation in UI motion design and animation with timing, pacing, easing, and visual feedback.
• Ability to bring static UI designs to life through transitions, motion, and VFX.
• Adapt to multiple visual styles from goofy/playful to clean fitness interfaces.
• Familiarity with Unity and basic UI animation/VFX implementation.

Responsibilities

• Create UI motion, transitions, button interactions, and visual effects for games and experiences.
• Work across projects and adapt motion design to different visual styles.
• Turn static UI designs into dynamic, expressive experiences via animation and VFX.
• Prototype motion concepts, timing, transitions, and visual treatments for projects.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, artists, and game designers to support direction and player experience.
• Take UI motion from concept to final implementation in Unity.
• Create and maintain reusable UI animation and VFX assets following guidelines.
