Job summary

KBR is seeking a motivated UI Engineer to support the GEMSTONE platform, designing and developing modern, responsive web applications that enable engineers, analysts, software developers, and mission users to interact with GEMSTONE services and digital assets.

The successful candidate will collaborate with product owners, UX designers, software engineers, platform engineers, and government stakeholders to create user experiences that simplify complex technical workflows while maintaining

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, HCI, Information Systems, UXD, or related field.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Ability to learn complex software ecosystems quickly.
Portfolio of previous work prior to interview.
1–5 years of software development focused on web applications.
Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain modern web UIs for GEMSTONE platform.
Implement responsive, accessible, and intuitive user experiences for engineering workflows.
Develop front-end apps that integrate with REST, GraphQL, and API services.
Collaborate with backend engineers on service integration patterns.
Translate UX designs into production-ready web apps.
Participate in Agile sprints, demos, and reviews.
Develop reusable UI components and design patterns.
Support RBAC and ABAC UI experiences.
Assist with front-end testing, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for UI deployment and validation.
Create and maintain technical docs and user guidance.
Support deployment in cloud-native Kubernetes environments.
