Job summary

Apple in Austin, Texas, seeks a Tools and Automation Engineer focusing on UI automation to join the iCloud QA team. You will design, build, and maintain automation frameworks across iOS, macOS, and Web platforms with a strong emphasis on AI-assisted test authoring and failure triage.

2–3 years of hands-on automation plus Python and Swift proficiency are expected. You will collaborate across functional teams to ensure testability of new features, build internal tools, and contribute to CI/CD

Qualifications

2–3 years of experience in tools and automation engineering or QA focused software engineering.
Hands-on UI automation with XCTest, Selenium, Appium, or WebDriver.
Proficiency in Python and Swift; experience with AI assisted test authoring is a plus.
Experience building/internal tooling to support automation workflows.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD systems.

Responsibilities

Design and build scalable UI automation frameworks for iOS, macOS, and Web apps.
Write and maintain automated UI tests across platforms.
Leverage AI tooling to author, generate, and improve automated tests.
Use AI-driven workflows for failure triage and root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure testability and quality.
Build and maintain internal tooling to support automation workflows.
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration and test execution workflows.
Investigate automation failures with strong debugging mindset.
Document automation frameworks for broader QA teams.
