Job summary

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics – Cardio Lab is seeking a skilled Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasound studies, ensure diagnostic quality, and support training of new technologists. The role involves on-site work, patient interaction, and adherence to aseptic practices in a fast-paced academic medical center.

Candidates should have an Associate degree in a relevant field and at least three years of related experience, with strong communication

Responsibilities

• Searches for abnormalities in blood flow sounds, heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and the appearance of the heart.
• Positions patients and explains procedures.
• Performs quality control functions.
• Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality.
• Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques.
• Develops ultrasound film and matches it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
• Assists with the maintenance and compilation of statistical data.
• Provides training to new and student cardiac ultrasound technologists.
