Sterlington PLLC – Trusts & Estates Counsel for the Ultra High Net Worth Practice in Philadelphia (Hybrid) is seeking an experienced attorney to design sophisticated estate plans and advise on tax strategies for global families and businesses.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration with family offices and outside advisors to deliver integrated wealth planning and governance for high-net-worth clients.

Qualifications

• J.D. from a top-tier law school; LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred.
• Active membership in a U.S. state bar (FL, NY, CA, TX, IL, or DC preferred).
• Minimum eight years of experience in trusts and estates law, with a focus on UHNW clients.
• Mastery of federal estate, gift, and GST tax laws; familiarity with state-level nuances and fiduciary income taxation.
• Proven track record of handling planning and administration matters for clients with net worths exceeding $75M+.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement estate plans for clients with estates over $75M, including GRATs and QPRTs.
• Advise on estate, gift, GST tax strategies for multi-generational wealth transfer.
• Oversee trust and estate administration—probate, fiduciary compliance, and post-mortem planning.
• Counsel on business succession planning: transfer of closely held entities and recapitalizations.
• Coordinate with family offices, investment advisors, accountants, and fiduciaries to deliver integrated counsel.
• Manage sensitive, multi-party family dynamics with discretion and emotional intelligence.
