Our client is a highly regarded, well established Registered Investment Advisor in the Chicago area is looking for a Client Advisor to service a book of UHNW individuals and families.
This is an opportunity for a sophisticated wealth management professional to serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth families, working across investment management, wealth planning, and the broader financial and family needs of clients. The successful candidate will bring strong relationship-management skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with estate planning, tax, and investment professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact and trusted advisor to a select group of ultra-high-net-worth clients and families.
- Develop and deepen long-term relationships with clients and their families through a high-touch, advice-driven approach.
- Understand clients' financial objectives, family circumstances, investment portfolios, estate plans, and broader wealth planning needs.
- Coordinate with internal investment, planning, tax, and operations teams to deliver comprehensive wealth management solutions.
- Provide guidance on complex wealth planning matters, including trust and estate planning, wealth transfer, gifting strategies, and intergenerational planning.
- Work closely with clients' outside attorneys, accountants, trustees, and other professional advisors.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, translating complex financial and investment concepts into clear, actionable advice.
- Help identify opportunities to enhance the firm's relationship with existing clients and, where appropriate, support business development and new client acquisition efforts.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and client service.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant experience in wealth management, private banking, family office, financial planning, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with UHNW clients and complex family wealth structures.
- Experience with Trust and Estate planning, including familiarity with trusts, wealth transfer strategies, gifting, and intergenerational planning.
- Strong understanding of investment management and portfolio construction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility and trust with sophisticated clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively across investment, planning, tax, legal, and operational disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced education is a plus.
- A fiduciary mindset and genuine commitment to putting clients' interests first.
