Job summary

This position provides professional nursing care for patients in an inpatient hospital setting at United Hospital Center, delivering care through the nursing process and exercising independent clinical judgment. It covers RN Level I & II scope and emphasizes accountability for patient outcomes and quality care.

The incumbent must assess patient data to identify age-specific needs and ensure growth and development considerations are applied across the patient lifespan in a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state where services will be provided or multi-state eNLC license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Two years of RN experience.
• Preferred BSN or higher.

Job description

This position has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The incumbent accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health care providers to whom care is delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes. Performs the duties and responsibilities within the scope of a Registered Nurse (RN) - Level I & II, as defined within the job description.

The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills at the competent level necessary to provide care that is relevant to the patient(s) under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span. The incumbent also must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, certification, and or licensure

• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Experience

• Two (2) years of registered nursing experience.
