Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia, seeks an LPN to provide direct nursing care in an inpatient setting under physician oversight. The role requires an active LPN license, BLS within 30 days, and at least 1 year of LPN experience.

Responsibilities include administering medications, observing and documenting patient status, assisting with examinations, and contributing to care planning. Varied shifts; non-exempt; on-site campus with standard hospital duties.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state or multi-state license via eNLC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per care plan and under supervision to promote comfort and health.
• Perform designated therapeutic procedures as needed for assigned patients.
• Observe and document patient status, report changes promptly.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures as directed.
• Contribute to nursing assessment with data collection and reporting.
• Monitor patient condition and document deviations from normal health.
• Support care plan development with data and priority setting.
• Educate patients and families and assist in rehabilitation per plan.
• Document interventions and responses to care in the chart.
• Administer IM, subcutaneous, IV and oral medications as assigned.
• Seek supervision when implementing nursing techniques or practices.
