Job summary

Traffic Tech Inc. in Chicago is seeking a U.S. Customs Client Services Specialist to serve as the primary contact for clients on customs inquiries and documentation.

You will work closely with customs operations and technical teams to resolve shipment issues and ensure accurate processing in CargoWise. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in U.S. Customs brokerage or customs services, with strong knowledge of import processes, documentation, and clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in U.S. Customs brokerage or customs services.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. import processes, documentation, and clearance requirements.
• Hands-on experience with CargoWise is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, client service, and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple customs-related requests.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding U.S. Customs inquiries, documentation, clearance issues, and general customs support.
• Coordinate with customs operations and technical teams to resolve shipment issues, missing information, and client requests.
• Review customs documentation and client information to identify potential clearance issues.
• Provide guidance on duties, tariffs, and import procedures.
• Monitor client activity, follow up on outstanding items, and maintain records in CargoWise.
• Escalate complex classification, valuation, compliance, and regulatory matters to the appropriate technical resource.

Working out of our Chicago office, we are looking for our next U.S. Customs Client Services Specialist. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing support on U.S. Customs inquiries, documentation, clearance issues, and general customs requirements. You will work closely with our customs operations and technical teams to resolve shipment issues, provide guidance to clients, and help ensure customs requests are handled accurately and efficiently. You will also monitor client activity, follow up on outstanding items, and maintain accurate records in CargoWise while escalating more complex customs matters to the appropriate technical resource.

U.S. CUSTOMS CLIENT SERVICES SPECIALIST

What the Job Entails:
