Job summary

U-Haul International, Inc. is seeking a General Manager to lead a moving and storage center. You will oversee profitability, staff hiring and development, inventory control, and equipment management in a fast-paced retail service setting.

The role emphasizes coaching a team, managing P&L, and ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and operational standards. A strong leadership background in retail is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
• Organizational expertise and leadership in high-volume retail with P&L accountability.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

As General Manager you will be responsible for keeping your center profitable and efficient by hiring effective staff, keeping track of inventory and managing equipment. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
