Job summary

U-Haul is seeking friendly, energetic Warehouse Workers to join our Tacoma team, providing reliable service while handling storage and dispatch tasks. You will operate forklifts, load/unload containers, assist customers, and help ensure on-time deliveries; training is provided.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license; U-Haul offers extensive benefits and training. Join a team with stability and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Operate an 8,000-lb propane forklift or truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers onto/off truck beds for delivery to/from storage facility.
• Ensure timely delivery and provide customer assistance, including sales of support items and use of online dispatch and rental systems.
• Perform customer-ready inspections of U-Box containers prior to dispatch and upon return.
• Prepare and provide documentation for delivery or pickup of goods.
• Maintain a clean, dry, and secure warehouse storage facility.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Warehouse Worker Primary Responsibilities:

• Operate an 8,000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).

• Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pickup of goods.
• Ensure that the warehouse storage facility is clean, dry and secure.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Warehouse Worker Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
• Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationery, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
