Job summary

U-Haul Holding Company is seeking a U-Box Customer Care Driver to manage local deliveries of storage containers and provide friendly, courteous service to customers. Training is provided for driving a flatbed truck and forklift, with opportunities for ongoing education through U-Haul University.

Minimum requirements include a clean driving record, high school diploma or equivalent, and CDL with DOT certification. This is a local, on-site role with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required.
• Department of Transportation certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a flatbed truck (training provided).
• Operate an 8000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
• Transport storage containers to and from destinations – local routes only.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

U-Box Customer Care Driver Responsibilities:

• Operate a flatbed truck (training provided).
• Operate an 8000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
• Transport storage containers to and from specified destinations, e.g., customers’ homes and businesses – local routes only.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Minimum Requirements:

• Clean motor vehicle driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Department of Transportation certification
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Must be 18 or older

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
