Job summary

Building Brilliance Day Care II Inc in Long Island City, NY seeks a Twos Lead Teacher to lead the two-year-old classroom, delivering age-appropriate curriculum and guiding a team of aides. You’ll support social, emotional, and cognitive development while maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.

Ideal candidates hold NYC Article 47 qualification via one of several pathways and have experience with toddlers.

Qualifications

• Must qualify under NYC Article 47 for Infant/Toddler (47.15) and Preschool Two’s Teacher.
• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
• CDA + plan to obtain Associate’s degree in ECE within 7 yrs.
• High school diploma + 9 college credits in ECE with plan to obtain Associate’s degree in ECE within 7 yrs.
• High School diploma + 5 yrs of experience in an Infant/Toddler classroom in current program.
• High School diploma + a plan leading to 9 college credits in ECE and an eventual Associate’s degree in ECE within 7 yrs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities for toddlers in the two-year-old classroom.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that supports social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Observe and document children's progress and developmental milestones.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's growth and daily activities.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom setting.
• Ensure compliance with NYC childcare regulations, health, and safety standards.
