Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking a production-focused candidate to operate yarn-twisting machinery in an industrial setting. You will set up, thread, and monitor yarn lines, ensuring quality and efficiency while adhering to safety procedures.

Responsibilities include loading yarn, adjusting buggies and spindles, performing quality checks, and maintaining housekeeping. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, with on-the-job training provided as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of all required on the job training.
  • Previous Yarn or Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Perform quality checks and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Follow all SOPs, safety procedures and company policies.
  • Perform housekeeping and other tasks as assigned by management.

Job description

Primary Objective

In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position.

  • Set up, operate, and tend to many machines organized into a frame that twist yarn together.
Major Function and Scope
  • Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into twister
  • Reposition buggies of yarn at the twisters and stage tubes for winder operation
  • Thread ends of single yarns, operate the spindle, and repair breakouts during production runs
  • Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container
  • Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe and efficient operation
  • Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency and meet production requirements
  • Perform quality checks using black lights to check yarn
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
  • Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management
Knowledge, Experience, Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Successful completion of all required on the job training
  • Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
  • Previous Yarn or Manufacturing experience is preferred
