Job summary

Lighthouse Central Florida is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to collaborate on vision-specific curricula for our Children's Program. The educator will support the Children’s/Transition Program and uphold our mission while maintaining confidentiality per regulations.

Qualifications include a Florida TVI license, a preferred dual TVI/O&M certification, and CPR/First Aid. Travel over 50% and reliable transportation are required; a Bachelor's in Visual Disabilities Education is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Master's degree in Orientation and Mobility preferred.
• Florida TVI license required.
• Dual TVI + O&M license preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and functional vision evaluations to establish goals and IEPs.
• Attend program events on Wednesday/Friday afternoons and some weekends and summer programming.
• Coordinate service plans and curricula with the team.
• Provide home, community, and center-based instruction as needed.
• Complete progress reports and data entry documenting child progress.
