Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our full-time, school-based team in St. Augustine, FL.

You will provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, helping them access the curriculum and develop independence and confidence. Collaborate with teachers, families, and related services to implement IEP goals, use Braille and assistive technology, and adapt materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Florida teaching license with endorsement in Visual Impairment.
• Experience with blind/visually impaired students preferred.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and Braille instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct specialized instruction per IEP goals.
• Conduct assessments and contribute to evaluations.
• Teach Braille, assistive tech, and compensatory skills.
• Adapt materials and collaborate with staff and families.
• Attend IEP meetings and monitor progress.
• Maintain documentation and meet district/state/federal requirements.
