Nyman Associates is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide specialized educational support to students with visual impairments in school-based settings. You’ll deliver itinerant vision services, Braille and mobility guidance, and contribute to IEP goals with measurable progress.

Qualifications

• Certification as TVI is required.
• Experience with students with visual impairments preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide itinerant vision-related educational services to students with visual impairments or blindness.
• Deliver individualized instruction, including Braille and orientation & mobility support.
• Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments.
• Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom environments for accessibility.
• Develop accommodations and specialized learning materials based on student needs.
• Participate in IEP team meetings, write goals, and monitor progress.
• Plan and implement lessons tailored to students’ visual and educational needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit required reports.
• Assist with acquiring adaptive equipment and accessible materials.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to support student inclusion.
