Their role is to work closely with the partnership leadership team to implement fall tutoring, program operations, and tutor support through the fall. Reporting directly to a national manager of partnerships, the TC supports duties that are critical to the operations in our Newark tutoring.This is an in-person role, and candidates must reside in the Greater Newark or Metropolitan New York City area with access to reliable transportation. The start date for this position is September 21st, 2026, and it concludes on December 4th, 2026.What you’ll do70% - Lead Fall Tutoring at one of Newark fall sitesConduct beginning and end-of-fall assessmentsLead the daily tutoring sessions by taking attendance, scheduling students, managing daily operations, tutor coaching, and program qualityProvide in person coaching and support for tutors working directly with students using the Reading Partners Connects curriculumCheck-in regularly with a member of the national Reading Partners team20% - Community and Family EngagementFacilitate tutor orientations as neededFacilitate family engagement workshops as needed10% - Other Duties as NeededHow you’ll do it:Relationship Management & CommunicationForge and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders in building a community of literacy. Cultivate strong internal relationships with peers and support managers as needed. Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively as an ambassador of Reading Partners externally.Possess a strong aptitude for effective communication with program team members and other Reading Partners staff. Be able to set up strong systems for communication.Project Management:Demonstrate an ability to effectively manage time, balance multiple competing priorities at once, and, above all, and remain adaptable, flexible, and positive while navigating challenges. Anticipate challenges and/or questions, and proactively act to address them. Demonstrate an aptitude for framing problems as opportunities, and always pushing to further streamline.What we offer:This is a part-time, non-exempt, and hourly position. Part-Time TCs work an average of 20 hours per week. The compensation range for this position is $19.00 - $21.19 per hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.
