Job summary

Catapult Learning is seeking a Middle School Tutor for Bound Brook Community Middle School in Bound Brook, New Jersey. This part-time role runs 8:55am-3:00pm with a 1-hour break on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

You will provide tutoring in reading, mathematics, and writing using company materials, under supervision by Catapult Learning. The position emphasizes advocacy, mentorship, and direct support to students with opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Qualifications

• Background check (FBI/BCI) required.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional methods.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services for students.
• Communicate progress with parents and keep student files.
• Deliver prescribed instructional methods using company materials and strategies.
• Attend training and implement instructional models in reading, math and/or writing.
• Develop and maintain individualized lesson plans.
• Supervise students during sessions.
• Attend meetings with supervisors, teachers, principals and parents.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Middle School Tutor

Bound Brook Community Middle School | Part-Time | Bound Brook, New Jersey

Schedule:

8:55am-3:00pm, with a 1 hour break; Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

How you’ll be there for students:

Tutors will provide contracted instructional services with the necessary educational expertise in reading, mathematics, and writing for students.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and delivers prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate efforts in providing services to students
• Communicate and conference with parents providing information on student progress
• Deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company
• Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills to students through the utilization of Company-designed materials and educational strategies.
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Ensure supervision of students, including escorting students safely to and from sessions.
• Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Attend and document meetings/training with Company Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What we’ll need from you:

The positive, enthusiastic tutor we seek has these qualifications.

• Non-licensed tutors: individuals with an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education; or at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
• Licensed tutors: teachers with proper credentials recognized by the State of [XXXX] as Properly Licensed Teacher.
• Tutors must complete an FBI/BCI background check.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Pay Rate

Starting from USD $35.00/Hr.

Physical Environment/Working Conditions:

Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.
