Hamilton County Schools in Chattanooga, TN, invites qualified educators to join North Hamilton County Elementary. We value teamwork, learner-focused growth, and a supportive school culture, with mentoring for new teachers and after-school sessions.

The role provides small group and individual instruction, attends training, records student progress, collaborates with teachers and staff, and upholds confidentiality and ethics. Compensation is $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides supplemental instruction and support to selected students.
• Attends training in the appropriate model(s) implemented in the school.
• Keeps accurate records of student work and academic support provided.
• Provides classroom teacher(s) and/or administration with regular progress reports on students.
• Follows established procedures to ensure assigned areas are safe.
• Works collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff.
• Attends work and arrives to work on time.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.
• Complies with accounting and financial policies and procedures involving the handling of money and property, as well as other Board policies.
• Uses computers and other technology to enter and access information related to essential job functions.

North Hamilton County Elementary is a preK-5 school located in Sale Creek, TN, just north of Chattanooga. Our teachers appreciate our small community, supportive parents, teacher collaboration, students who are eager to learn, and an atmosphere of learning amongst students and teachers. Our House System adds excitement and accountability and helps reinforce our positive school culture.

We are looking for teachers who are team players, eager to learn, and willing to continuously adapt to students’ needs. Our teachers are passionate about learning and love working with kids. At NHCE, we are excited to offer our teachers a mentoring program for new teachers and after school support sessions.

To provide small group and/or individual instruction in academic content areas. To provide assistance as needed in non-academic areas such as graduation rate, behavior and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provides supplemental instruction and support to selected students.
• Attends training in the appropriate model(s) implemented in the school.
• Keeps accurate records of student work and academic support provided.
• Provides classroom teacher(s) and/or administration with regular progress reports on students.
• Follows established procedures to ensure assigned areas are safe.
• Works collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff.
• Attends work and arrives to work on time.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.
• Complies with accounting and financial policies and procedures involving the handling of money and property, as well as other Board policies.
• Uses computers and other technology to enter and access information related to essential job functions.
• May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned
