Job summary

Queens Community House (QCH) is seeking high school tutors for after-school programs across multiple sites in Queens, NY. The role provides academic support, homework help, and individualized or small-group instruction for students in grades 9–12.

Tutors will reinforce classroom instruction, develop engaging lessons, and monitor student progress while collaborating with program staff, teachers, and families to promote academic success and college readiness.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Currently enrolled in or graduated from an accredited college or university.
• Able to explain concepts clearly and engage students in learning.
• Background check completed; NYC Department of Education fingerprinting and clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions.
• Assist with homework, class assignments, and projects.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and monitor progress.
• Prepare students for Regents Exams, SATs, and other assessments.
