Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Drilling Supervisor to coordinate drilling programs with Drilling Services and Geology teams, ensuring plans are followed and compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies in Nevada.

The role involves leading contractor safety discussions, reporting daily drilling activities, and ensuring drill sites and equipment meet design parameters, with travel to local sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with exploration drilling.
• Minimum 2 years of experience underground and/or surface.
• Experience with contract management.
• Strong commitment to zero accidents and citations.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with computer software (MS Office, AcQuire).
• Familiarity with exploration process.
• Ability to travel locally on a routine basis.

Responsibilities

• Review project scopes of work and support drill planning.
• Provide technical advice on the suitability of proposed drilling methods to achieve project objectives.
• Ensure drill sites are constructed within design parameters and ready for occupancy.
• Ensure drill rigs are properly set up.
• Provide detailed daily activity reporting.
• Accurately report status updates on hole conditions, sample quality and recovery and delays to drilling.
• Liaison with Mine Operations personnel.
• Ensure all down hole surveys are performed to client specifications.
• Inspect equipment and laydown areas.
• Manage inventory of consumables.
• Participate in contractor safety meetings and incident investigations.
• Conduct visible felt leadership interactions with drill contractors.
• Survey of collar coordinates with a Trimble

The successful candidate will partner with Drilling Services and Geology teams to ensure drilling programs are executed according to plan and in compliance with all Nevada Gold Mines Safety and Health, Contractor Management and Environmental policies and applicable regulatory agency guidelines.

• Experience with computer software (MS Office, AcQuire)
• Familiarity and understanding of exploration process
• Ability to travel locally on a routine basis
