Job summary

Indorama Ventures seeks an experienced Turnaround Site Team Leader to steward TMP at a designated site. You will lead planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management for large turnarounds and recat projects.

You will collaborate with Site Leadership, TAR core teams, and procurement while driving continuous improvement and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent; 5+ years in turnarounds, construction, maintenance, or operations.
• Experience leading or managing complex turnarounds and projects.
• Knowledge of safety standards, environmental requirements, and project controls.
• Strong communication and team leadership required.

Responsibilities

• Provide stewardship of Turnaround Management Process (TMP) at the site.
• Lead and participate in Site Leadership Team and TAR planning.
• Develop TAR scope, schedule, cost, and risk management plans.
• Lead meetings (SLT, Steerco) and report progress and variance.
• Coordinate with procurement for TAR-related contracts and vendor management.
• Ensure compliance, training, and documentation per TMP procedures.

General Purpose of Job

The Turnaround Site Team Leader is responsible at the site level to be the steward of the Turnaround Management Process (TMP) at a designated Indorama site where large turnarounds and / or recat projects are taking place. This position reports to the Indorama Regional Turnaround Manager.

Prioritized Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities / Core Responsibilities:

• Provides stewardship of the Turnaround Management Process (TMP) for the relevant Indorama site.
• Participate as member of Site Leadership Team representing Corporate Turnarounds.
• Participate and contribute to corporate initiatives driving continuous improvement and Turnaround Excellence.
• Provide input to the development of the TAR Long-Term strategy.
• Provide input to development of procurement category agreements relevant to Turnarounds.
• Provide input and update to Turnaround processes and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with required training and certifications as necessary.
• Maintain all relevant projects in compliance with corporate procedures: Safety and Sustainability, Vendor management and Controls, Corp. Finance, Capital Investment Guidelines (CIG) and Turnaround Management Process (TMP).
• Ensure collaborative work environment is in place and always follows the company MVV and code of conduct.

Planning Phase Responsibilities:

• Setup Initial Turnaround and Recat Project Deliverables and Milestones from Turnaround Management Process with input and approval of the Regional Turnaround Manager.
• Participate in development of TAR core team, FEL team and Planning Team.
• Implement corporate sponsored KPI’s for turnarounds and identify other project-specific benchmarks and KPI as necessary.
• Develop premise documents for Turnarounds including TAR boundaries.
• Define project concept documents for scope management, scheduling and planning, cost management, EHS and Quality plans, Capital and Maintenance integration, operations planning and preparation, logistics and materials management, communication and meeting plans.
• Implement TAR scope change management process and vendor FCO tracking.
• Provide leadership representing Turnaround for the scope vetting process, including qualification of funding source (TAR, capital vs. expense)
• Accountable for driving the planning département to meet milestone dates to assure TAR planning is on schedule
• Provide progress reporting for Turnaround scoping, planning, scheduling and cost.
• Develop Gate approval packages including assurance document and gate estimates for approval per the phase gate timing in the TMP procedure.
• Setup and lead Turnaround SLT updates and Steerco meetings, providing control over the required participation in the meetings.
• Accountable for schedule development with planning coordination to ensure a logic driven schedule is adapted and followed. Schedule will be required to meet TAR dates for shutdown and start up window,
• Implement the Turnaround risk management process by engaging the whole FEL organization to identify and mitigate all known risks.
• Lead the execution schedule review sessions including critical path optimization.
• Ensure the communication plan for the turnaround is in place; including meeting plan, documentation management and training.

Execution Phase Responsibilities:

• Ensure seamless plan from Pre-TAR to Pre-Shutdown to Shutdown; including capital projects, operations de/recommissioning preparations, pre-inspections, contractor mobilization and scaffold building.
• Ensure that adequate onboarding training in place for in-house and external resources. Ensure the training conducted per the overall plan and in time for the start of the major execution activities.
• Implement the meeting plan for the turnaround.
• Lead daily management team meetings, participate / lead steerco meetings with alignment of Regional TAR Manager.
• Ensure reporting in place and adequately distributed (daily, weekly, etc.).
• Ensure change management process is in place and appropriately managed. Provide approval for scope changes per DOA.
• Review daily force reports against the staffing plan to ensure staffing compliance for the Turnaround resources. Report variance and address needs with management / steerco as needed.
• Ensure that schedule progress is functioning appropriately and that any variances are addressed during the meetings with clear causes (worker productivity, delays, lack of resources, inadequate/incomplete schedule updates, etc.). Include mitigation plan to get things back on track as necessary.
• Ensure update of Indorama TAR group costs to appropriate project.
• Ensure that TAR is following overall plan through execution making only course adjustments as needed.
• Ensure that quality items are addressed during execution including punch out and PSSR action items.
• Implement the recommissioning and startup plan. Ensure unit transitioned back to operations.
• Ensure the communication plan for the turnaround is in place; including meeting plan, documentation management and training.

Education / Experience / Skills Requirements

• HS Diploma or Equiv AND Minimum of 5 years of experience working in turnarounds, construction, maintenance or operations at a refinery or petrochemical facility
• Previous experience in field construction, pipefitting, and/or welding
• Experience managing or leading construction projects and Turnarounds

Specific Skills and Knowledge

• Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs
• Good working knowledge of industry standard scheduling programs: Primavera P6, MS Project
• Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs
• Knowledge of project cost and scheduling control
• Knowledge of vendor management and vendor controls.
• Able to monitor contractor’s QA/QC performance
• Must possess knowledge and understanding of environmental requirements, construction practices/techniques, construction contracting and project controls and scheduling.
• Strong knowledge of engineering and construction standards, materials, and companies/vendors processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry safety standards and applicable laws.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and project plans.
• Detailed knowledge of environmental and safety matters as they relate to the refining/chemical/petrochemical industry.
• Must be detail oriented and analytical.
