Job summary

Southway Crane & Rigging Inc. in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Turnaround Rigger for a temporary project. You will assist the crane operator, perform rigging setups, and apply hand signals to ensure safe lifts.

The ideal candidate has NCCER Advanced Level II Rigger Certification, at least 5 years of rigging experience, and possess a TWIC card. Background and drug screening are required before assignment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of rigging experience.
• Must pass background and drug screen.
• TWIC Card required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the crane operator in the proper set-up of the equipment.
• Assists the crane operator in the maintenance of the crane and accessory equipment.
• Understands and can perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load.
• Utilizes proper hand signals during all operations of the crane.
• Properly secures equipment to the trailer before operating the truck.
• Inspects truck and trailer and fills out truck inspection report before operating the vehicle.
• Turns in inspection report to the proper supervisor.
• Reports mechanical defects in writing on the truck and/or trailers to the shop technician or a supervisor.

Southway Crane & Rigging Inc.Turnaround Rigger (Temporary position)Location: Spartanburg, South CarolinaReports to Branch ManagerSouthway Crane and Rigging Inc, is looking for Turnaround Riggers for a project working out of our branch for turnaround.This position and has no guarantee of hours after the end of the project. The ideal candidate must have 3+ years’ experience and be able to pass a background and drug screen.Summary: Assists the crane operator on job tasks during the operation of the crane and provides rigging operation and hand signals to ensure safe lifting of the load. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating a motor vehicle.
