Job summary

Brunel is seeking an experienced Turnaround Execution Lead to support planning and execution of turnaround, outage, and maintenance at a major LNG facility and pipeline assets. The role coordinates contractors and serves as the primary liaison among Construction, Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Inspection, QA/QC, and Project teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial construction and turnaround experience (15+ years preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience leading contractor crews during major turnarounds, outages, shutdowns, or maintenance campaigns.
  • Background supporting LNG, refinery, petrochemical, chemical processing, gas processing, pipeline, or upstream oil & gas facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial construction disciplines: mechanical, piping, welding, scaffolding, rigging & lifting, NDE, electrical & instrumentation, insulation & painting.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders including Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Inspection, QA/QC, Pipeline, and contractor organizations.
  • Proven ability to manage contractor performance, field execution, schedules, budget, and quality.
  • Thorough understanding of Safe Work Practices including PTW, LOTO, JSAs, OSHA requirements, and industrial safety standards.
  • Familiarity with OSHA 1910 and OSHA 1926 regulations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to influence teams at all levels.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license and TWIC card (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and 12-hour shifts during turnaround execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead field execution activities during turnaround and maintenance events while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
  • Serve as the primary field liaison between contractors, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Pipeline, Inspection, QA/QC, and Project Management teams.
  • Coordinate contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Support turnaround planning by reviewing work packages, execution strategies, contractor plans, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor contractor productivity, workforce performance, schedule adherence, quality, and overall execution progress.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, engineering specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide field leadership for Safe Work Practices, including PTW, LOTO, JSAs, confined space entry, hot work, and other critical safety processes.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC and Inspection teams to resolve field issues, verify work quality, and support inspections throughout execution.
  • Support field material management, equipment verification, logistics coordination, and contractor readiness.
  • Review field changes, monitor scope modifications, and assist with cost tracking and contractor invoicing as required.
  • Support commissioning, mechanical completion, systems turnover, and startup activities.
  • Participate in field audits, safety observations, quality inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor junior personnel and contribute to the development of less experienced team members.

Turnaround Execution Lead V (Construction Liason V)

Location: Sabine Pass, TX

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (extended hours and 12-hour shifts required during Turnarounds)

Duration: 12+ month contract with strong potential for extension

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Turnaround Execution Lead to support the planning and execution of turnaround, outage, and maintenance activities at a major LNG facility and associated pipeline assets. This is a highly visible field leadership role responsible for coordinating contractors, ensuring safe work execution, and serving as the primary liaison between Construction, Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Inspection, QA/QC, and Project teams.

This position is ideal for someone with extensive industrial field experience who has successfully led contractor crews during major turnarounds and shutdowns within LNG, refinery, petrochemical, gas processing, or upstream facilities.
