Job summary

Prestage is seeking a hands-on farm worker to clean and fill feeders, spray poultry houses, inspect flock health, collect eggs, and assist with packing and recordkeeping.

You will monitor feed and environmental controls, work independently, and comply with safety and uniform requirements; weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and fill feeders and water containers
• Spray poultry houses with disinfectants and vaccines
• Inspect poultry for diseases and remove weak, ill, and dead poultry from flock
• Collect eggs from trap nests, release hens from nests, and record number of eggs laid by each hen
• Pack eggs in cases or cartons; select, weigh, and crate fryers and pullets; and record totals packed or crated on shipping or storage document
• Maintain feeding and breeding reports
• Monitor feed, water, illumination, and ventilation systems; clean, adjust, lubricate, and replace system parts
• Work independently
• Communicate both verbally and in writing
• Must shower before entering the facility and wear a company uniform
• Must be available to work weekends

ADA Requirements

• Work with and around disinfectant type chemicals
• Perform constant walking, lifting, and bending
• Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Be exposed to outside weather conditions such as heat, cold, dust, and high humidity
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
