Job summary

Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA is seeking a full-time Turfgrass Technician to maintain turf areas, apply pesticides, sod, seed, aerate, and assist with irrigation and snow removal. This role reports to the Turfgrass Manager and requires a team-oriented approach.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of groundskeeping experience, an associate degree preferred, valid driver’s license and PA pesticide license (or willingness to obtain), and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work

Qualifications

• 2 years of groundskeeping, golf course or estate maintenance experience.
• Small equipment operator skills required.
• Strong organizational, communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Valid driver’s license and PA Pesticide Applicator’s license or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain turfgrass areas and support irrigation and water management.
• Apply fertilization and pesticide treatments as needed.
• Sod, seed, aerate, and assist with snow removal.
• Lead and train interns, students, and seasonals.
• Operate turf equipment and power tools safely.
