Job summary

R.P. Marzilli & Company seeks turf professionals to support residential landscapes across New England. You will perform turf applications, diagnose turf issues, and adhere to IPM practices in a fast-paced field role.

Must hold MA/RI pesticide licenses or be able to obtain them. Valid driver's license required. Competitive hourly pay with benefits and growth opportunities within a family of companies.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Apply fertility, weed and insect management for turf on client properties.
• Diagnose insect, disease, and cultural issues on turf.
• Follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices.
• Communicate turf needs to Division/Account Managers.
• Calibrate spray equipment and ensure accurate daily applications.
• Follow EPA labels and properly mix spray tanks.
• Record materials usage and notes in handheld device.
• Assist with Plant Health Care and Tick/Mosquito controls as needed.
• Travel route to visit multiple properties efficiently.

Job Overview

R.P. Marzilli has been installing and maintaining New England’s finest residential landscapes since 1985. We are seeking landscape professionals who have a passion for Turf/Lawn care to join our team and deliver outstanding service to our clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform applications within our proprietary program that address fertility, weed management, and insect management of turf on client’s properties
• Identify and diagnose insect, disease, and cultural issues on turf of client’s properties
• Adhere to best Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices
• Communicate turf needs on specific properties to Division Manager and/or Account Managers
• Routine care and regular calibration of spray truck equipment to ensure accurate applications
• Be adept at following EPA labels and correctly mixing spray tanks for necessary applications each day
• Enter in detailed notes regarding each application including record of material usage into handheld device
• Assist with Plant Health Care applications and/or Tick/Mosquito Control as necessary
• Follow a route to efficiently visit multiple properties each day and effectively complete tasks at each property

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
• Must possess current MA and RI Pesticide License or ability to obtain them prior to employment
• Field experience with comparable position is much preferred
• Degree relevant to the field (turf management, plant pathology, etc) is preferred
• Willingness to work in all types of weather (heat, rain, cold)
• Willingness to work some Saturdays as workload and weather during busiest times of year may dictate
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to stay motivated and work efficiently, often as a one-person crew
• A strong passion for and dedication to enhancing the quality of the turf on the properties we take care of
