Job summary

The Lane Construction Corporation is seeking a Tunnel Shift Engineer to ensure site operations comply with procedures and quality standards. You will provide technical support to the Site Superintendent and act as a liaison between field and the technical office.

Qualifications include a 3–5 year background in tunneling/construction with a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and strong Excel/AutoCAD skills. This role is based on-site on complex civil infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist supervision of excavation, support of excavation and other activities.

• Monitor geotechnical instrumentation.
• Coordinate with Quality control and prepare weekly work plans.
• Prepare 3-week look ahead schedules with Superintendent.

Summary:

The Tunnel Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring that site operations wthin the areas of its competence are performed in compliance with approved working procedures and quality requirements. Provides technical support and assistance to the Site Superintendent in coordinating routine and special activities and acts as a link between the field and the technical office.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

• Assistance to the supervision of excavation, support of excavation and other activities.
• Survey control.
• Tracking material consumption, quantity reports.
• Follow and protect geotechnical instrumentation.
• Interface with Quality control department.
• Daily Reports
• Preparation of work plans, lift plans and Job Hazard Analysis.
• Reporting to superiors and ensuring an effective exchange of information at all levels
• Rebar and formwork take off and inspection previous placement
• Preparation of 3 weeks look ahead schedule for the site in coordination with the Superintendent

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years working experience.
• Experience with SOE and Concrete works.
• Background experience in Tunneling and/or Dam is required.
• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and AutoCAD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Detail-orientation, flexibility and multi-tasking attitude.
• Attitude to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Attitude to work underground.
