Job summary

HII in Chatsworth, CA is seeking a Tubing Technician Level II to fabricate, bend, fit and install tubing per drawings, BOMs and quality standards.

Requirements include 2+ years of hands-on tubing fabrication, ability to read drawings, and proficiency with tape measures, calipers, cutters, deburring tools and basic safety practices. This is a full-time role in a manufacturing setting with focus on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years hands-on tubing fabrication experience.
• Ability to read basic drawings, work orders and assembly instructions.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow tubing routing, bend-radius, fitting, torque and cleanliness requirements.
• Basic understanding of dimensions, fractions, decimals, and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Perform tubing fabrication, bending, fitting and installation to support Pump Division systems.
• Measure and cut tubing according to drawings and specifications.
• Deburr and clean tubing before assembly and install fittings and clamps.
• Assemble tubing onto pumps and related components and inspect own work.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and complete required documentation.

Salary Range: $23.00 To $25.00 Hourly

Position Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tubing Technician Level II to join our Pump Division team. This position is responsible for performing tubing fabrication, bending, fitting, and installation for Pump Division systems in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, bills of materials (BOMs), and established quality and safety standards. The technician ensures tubing assemblies meet required specifications, workmanship standards, and production requirements.

• Minimum of two (2) years of hands‑on experience in tubing fabrication, bending, fitting, assembly, and/or installation in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated experience with tubing fabrication.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic drawings, work orders, and assembly instructions.
• Basic understanding of dimensions, fractions, decimals, and measurements.
• Ability to use:

  • Basic gauges
• Ability to identify tubing, fittings, and components by part number/BOM.
• Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.
• Ability to follow tubing routing, bend‑radius, fitting, torque, and cleanliness requirements.
• Basic computer skills for production/J.O. documentation.
• Must follow PPE, safety, housekeeping, and 5S requirements.
• Measure and cut tubing according to drawings and specifications.
• Deburr and clean tubing before assembly.
• Perform basic tube bending using approved tools/equipment.
• Install fittings, ferrules, sleeves, adapters, clamps, and supports.
• Route tubing according to drawings and assembly requirements.
• Maintain proper tubing alignment and bend radius.
• Assemble tubing onto pumps and related components.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection of own work.
• Assist with leak/pressure testing after proper training.
• Identify shortages, damaged tubing, incorrect parts, or drawing discrepancies and report them.
• Complete required production and inspection documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
