Job summary

Wood seeks a skilled welder to select pipe sizes and welding methods per specifications and to plan layouts and assemblies. You will apply knowledge of geometry and metal properties while performing welding using GMAW, GTAW, SMAW as required.

The role requires laying out, aligning, and fitting components, then bolting, clamping, and welding in various positions. You will also connect cables and prepare electrodes as stipulated by procedures.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to select appropriate pipe size and welding method.
• Shows understanding of geometry and metal properties for precise fits.
• Knowledge of common welding processes and electrode types.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or related materials per specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying geometry and metal properties.
• Performs welding using various welding processes and positions.
• Lays out, aligns, and fits components, bolts, clamps, and welds as required.
